#TheCrew celebrated #MadibaDay with our new friends from GirlCode and EXL Services. Over 4 days we visited Talfallah, Eastville, Dietrich Moravian and Athwood Primary schools, introducing the learners to Computer Coding.
GirlCode is on a mission to empower 10 million women and girls by 2030. By creating a network of women who are highly skilled in software development and leadership skills, who will contribute towards an inclusive and innovative technology industry. #LU4C is honoured to be part of this initiative.
Learners at the schools were introduced to the GirlCoder Club. The program is aimed at learners from Grades 4 to 10, to learn how to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations using code from Scratch, to Html, CSS and Javascript.
Needless to say, the fun-filled mornings were enjoyed by all, facilitators included. Our very own crew also learnt a thing or two 😉
